:(

I’m very sorry to dissapoint, but I am not going to be able to see my story through.

Time is not on my side. I barely managed to play 5 official games with Liverpool. It is fun, but is is at a very slow rate, due to having little free time on my hands.

The save is going very well so far, won all the games, I plan on playing it, keep it real, buying only players Dalglish style: British players or with  EPL experience, not too much at a time, etc etc.

Would’ve made a good story, but there’s no point in fooling myself or my readers: I just can’t continue writing. :( I am very sorry for this, I am very fond of FMCrowd and this is not a decision taken lightly.

I will visit the community from time to time, to read old mates stories or maybe discovering some new ones. I wish you all the best of luck ;)

FM Extras

The game is more fun when you use extra stuff for FM12 like graphics pack and real name for competitions. In this post I will show you what kinda of extra perks I use and where did I get them from.

Real Player and Staff Faces

I just hate playing the game and not have the pictures of the players.

image

I use the the Sortitousi Cut-Out Faces Megapack Version 4.0  which can be found here: http://sortitoutsi.net/forum/topic/39782-megapack-home-thread-latest-update-40/

Club Logos

The same as with players, I like seeing the real club logos.

I still use, Like in FM11 the D’11 Logos, which I got from here: http://www.footballmanagerfanboys.net/discussion/topic/932-d11-logos/

Unfortunately, there is no megapack, all the leagues have to be downloaded individually.

Kits

The kits I like the most are FbKits, which can be found here: http://www.footballmanagerfanboys.net/discussion/topic/5425-fbkits-download-area-season-1112/

Real Names for Clubs, Competitions and Awards

I don’t like playing the game with made up names for club or competitions. To get the real names for clubs and competitions there is a fix that can be found here: http://sortitoutsi.net/forum/topic/53651-fm12-susie-real-names-for-clubs-competitions-and-awards-fix-v1-for-fm12-now-out/

Skin

There aren’t many skins for FM12 at the moment and none of them is really good anyway. I used 3 skins in FM11, two of the where Neue2 and FM Crowd skin. There was a 3rd skin I used for the most amount of time which is now available for FM12.

It is actually the base skin of Football manager, but it allows some further customizations. The skin(s) can be found here: https://sites.google.com/site/michaeltmurrayuk/Skins/base-skins-for-football-manager-2012

On the link can be found more details on what changes are possible.

Let’s get the party started

This is not only my first FM12 story, but it actually is my first FM 12 save. With so many changes to the game, I am actually a little nervous playing it (but in a good way).

takes charge

As you can see, Liverpool fans aren’t too happy that I took King Kenny’s job. For all you who don’t know much about Liverpool, Kenny Dalglish was THE best player that ever played for Liverpool, the most iconic figure in Liverpool FC history.

honours

As you can see, Liverpool is a very successful club and therefore it is understandable why the fans have a hard time accepting a rookie manager.

gen team info

As previously stated, Liverpool is my favorite club. It is only normal that I want to do good with them and make them yet again the best football club in the world.

expectations

Although the media predicts only the 5th place, the board expects us to fight for the title. Honestly I don’t think I’ll be able to do that. As you can see I have no transfer money. I didn’t allow for transfers this transfer period, partly for realism sake and partly to make it a little more challenging on me.

Taking on Liverpool might seem a bit too easy for some of you. It kinda is. I saw a good opportunity this way to get me into the game in a fun and rewarding way. Anyway, I won’t make it easy to myself. I won’t make some strict rules like a did in the past with other stories, but I will adapt as the game progresses.

le team

The main objective  of this story is for me to have fun :) I hope to make it fun for you to read it also. The secondary objective  is to make Liverpool the greatest club in Europe like it used to be in the 1980’s and win all that can be won… multiple times ;)

My first FM12 story: Liverpool

First of all I am very happy that my copy of FM12 arrived today. Yeeeeey! :D

With that out of the way I will announce the first team I will manage in FM12: Liverpool!

Initially, I considered the idea to play with Levante and try to replicate their real life success in La Liga. I soon came to the conclusion that I don not have (yet) what it takes to do that. So, I said to myself to start with an easier task, just to get me warmed to the all new FM12.

Liverpool in my favourite club and this year they actually have a pretty good team. However I will try to keep things at least a little interesting by not making it easy for me. For example no transfers in the first transfer period… and some other things.

My first post about Liverpool will be (hopefully) in this weekend, since I won’t have too much time to play until then. However, the post might be delayed a little since Saturday is my birthday :D

I’ll be back

Hello people!

It’s been more then 2 months since my last post. A busy summer for me, no vacation, just work. On top of that I just started college, so I have a pretty busy life.

The only distraction I allow myself is FM12. I already pre-ordered it and I’m playing the demo as I write. I will make a story here, but since my weekdays will be full I can only play on weekends. Therefore, I will probably do a post per week in average. To compensate for that I will think of some interesting story to keep you all entertained :)

I see many new face around here, but some old ones too. I really miss the days I played a lot of FM and wrote here.

Project 2050 – Transfers and Objectives

Hello kids! I am glad to be able to write again. It has been some really busy weeks for me  and that’s why I wasn’t around. I envy you being able to play (almost) every day for hours and hours!

I am totally out of my comfort zone with this save. This pre-season period was my longest ever, took me many hours to get through it. If you read my previous post you know that I have a shit team that needs changed almost entirely changed in order to reach the top of the game.

image

Bolzoni was the only good player in my squad. He was by far the best player in the team. Chelsea bought him 2 seasons ago from Pescara for 17M. I definitely needed some new hot blood in my team. The other players from the team aren’t worth showing their profiles.

image

So, these are my transfers. I let go of some crappy old dudes and sold some useless players. I kept the players that were ok.

Before I started the transfers, I had one choice to make. Either play a linear 4-3-3 (for which I had players) or buy wingers for my favorite tactics (I had no winger at the club, not even a player capable of playing as such). The good short term choice would’ve have been playing the linear 4-3-3, but I went for the long term choice of playing my favorite tactic.

image

Marsili is a decent 31 year old striker who’s transfer was arranged before my arrival.

image

The most expensive transfer and the best player at the club now. I really wanted a “monster” advanced playmaker and Maciel fits the bill.

image

I felt I needed a good solid GK and Khalifa certainly looks like one. Not to bad for 7.5M.

image

Decent now and great potential, Dobersek will be an extraordinary right winger.

image

Only a loan for now, Rogerinho will be used as a back-up right winger or striker. I have an agreed price of 4.3M for him. If he plays well I will buy him.

The other 3 loans are decent with good potential, but they have no agreed price. They are here because it was cheaper to loan some players than buying them.

As I said I am totally out of my comfort zone. Maybe I shouldn’t have paid so much for one player and instead use the money to buy more. However I think mid-table can be achieved this season with my current team.

image

My main objective in this save is to return Chelsea to it’s former glory! IRL, Chelsea is 3rd in European Club Rankings. In my save they are 56th. I would also like to my EPL and UCL with them if possible. I will not focus so much on the financial part in this save (as opposed to what I did in my Leverkusen save) but I will try not to bankrupt the team.

Now let the party begin! Wish me luck, I’ll need it. ;)
